The Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce is a private non-profit corporation. Office operations, programs, promotions, donations, etc. are funded solely by membership investment and fundraising.

The Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce was incorporated September 1, 1929. The organization depends on its members who elect a 14-member Board of Directors. This board is led by a 5-person Executive Committee consisting of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past-President.

Purpose of the Cameron Chamber

Referrals - Perhaps one of the most important benefits of membership of the Cameron Chamber of Commerce is access to the thousands of referral requests that we receive through the mail, in person and by telephone. The Chamber is the information specialist for the community. As your spokesperson, we refer only Chamber members. Being a member of the Cameron Chamber of Commerce indicates a commitment to the community and brings with it prestige and legitimacy.

Public Relations - The Chamber of Commerce promotes Cameron. We work with the City of Cameron to pursue new business and encourage visitors to to see what Cameron has to offer. The Chamber of Commerce is a primary source of public relations and promotions for Cameron.

Legislative Advocate - The Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors stays abreast of legislative issues which impact Cameron's growth and support or protest accordingly.

Economic Development - The Chamber's main thrust is in the area of economic development. We are constantly working to retain existing jobs and create new employment for the citizens of Cameron. Expansion of the business community is vital to our community's economic health and prosperity.

Chamber Promotions: Annual Banquet, Great NW Day at Jefferson City, Golf Tournament whose funds are earmarked towards economic development, July 4th celebration w/fireworks, Annual Car Show, Christmas Lighting Ceremony & Window Walk, Holiday Hustle 5K run and Christmas Parade.
